The Annual Pokhara Street Festival 2020
The 21st annual Pokhara
street festival at lake side Pokhara wrapped up yesterday. Starting from 28
December 2019 to 1 January 2020, the five days festival was a celebration
of Nepali culture, tourism and welcome to a new decade complete with Handicrafts
exhibition, fireworks, sports program, tourism events, performance of popular
artists, cuisines from around the world, cultures of all seven provinces. The
five-day fest is organized by Restaurant and Bar Association of Nepal (REBAN)
Pokhara on the occasion of New Year and also to promote Visit Nepal 2020. This
year’s street festival is to be organized coinciding with the
government-announced Visit Nepal Year-2020.
It was a joyous moment as people
filled the streets of lakeside Pokhara to enjoy many attractions such as an exhibition
of handicrafts, entertaining sports program, adventurous tourism events,
documentary screening, children’s park and performances of various artists including
a special performance by singer Raju lama. The year ended with a spectacular fireworks
show at midnight. People from all over Nepal as well as tourist from different
parts of the world were having a good time at the festival.
