Champa Devi Hiking.
Champa Devi Hiking is one of the famous hiking destinations in Kathmandu valley. It is a must-visit location for those who want to enjoy the panoramic view of many beautiful mountains such as Mt. Everest, Ganesh Himal, Annapurna, Langtang, Gaurishanker, etc. This is the third-highest hill around Kathmandu valley, which is at the height of 2278 meters. It as an easily accessible location for everyone in Kathmandu valley. During the hike, you can also spot many gems of Kathmandu valley such as the Bagmati river, Bugmati, Khokana, Pharping which are historical places of Nepal. On your right, you can see the Fulchoki hill and Chandra Giri which is the highest hill around Kathmandu Valley on your left.
The trip to Champa Devi begins from Bhangyang, which can be accessed via car, van or by local bus. It is about 45 minutes away from Thamel. It takes about 3 hours walking to reach the top of Champa Devi Hiking where we can see an open shrine of Champa Devi and a Buddhist monastery. The area is very isolated so it is recommended to bring your own food and water. If you want to continue your journey furthermore then you can go up to Bhasmasur hill. It is another hill higher then Champa Devi, otherwise back to Kathmandu in another way.
