Balthali Village.

Located southeast of Kathmandu in Kavrepalanchowk district, Balthali is a perfect weekend getaway destination for those who want to escape the city noises. It is not as mainstream as Nagarkot or Dhulikhel. This is a good thing because you will not be distracted by droves of visitors spoiling the tranquility of the place offers. The village is surrounded by visual delights of lush green terrace farms, orange plantations, pine forests and wild flowers in full bloom. Can’t forget the amazing view of sunrise and sunset with the hills covered by what looks like a blanket of fog is absolutely breathtaking. The place is a breath of fresh air for its visitors.

Balthali is easily accessible in and around Kathmandu valley. First it’s an hour and a half bus ride from koteshwor to Panauti. From there you can either choose the 60 minutes hike or take a private vehicle. It is recommended to take an off road vehicle due to the road being bumpy and under construction. And if you are seeking more thrills there is also a mountain bike trail from Lakuri Bhanjyang to Panauti. Many resorts are located here which provides great hospitality to its visitors.

Naturally speaking, Balthali is one of the most beautiful places around Kathmandu valley the lush green paddy fields and the mellow smell of pine and rhododendron forests may come as refreshment for its visitor. During its season everywhere you see you’ll find beautiful oranges trees on your way to Balthali. I urge everyone to visit this amazing place which many calls one of the most beautiful village near Kathmandu.
