Winter Sports in Nepal.


Nepal is home to the Himalayas, the highest mountain range in the world. Eight of the fourteen highest peaks of the worlds are located here. Now we can truly enjoy these magnificent snowcapped mountains in the most thrilling and adventurous way. Most of us are fans of the winter X games, whether it is skiing or snowboarding. Now with the help of Ski and Snowboarding Foundation Nepal we can enjoy these thrilling sports. Founded in 2016 Ski and Snowboarding Foundation Nepal aims to teach Nepalese youngsters skiing, snowboarding, ski touring and ski Mountaineering. Many of us have been fans of winter sports since childhood but were only been ever to enjoy them through video games and foreign sports channel. There are now many skiing destination in Nepal such as Annapurna base camp, Dhaulagiri camp and the one closest to Kathmandu is the one in kalinchok. The numbers are increasing. With the installation of ski lifts at kalinchok skiing has been made easier for everyone. Their upcoming event is the “Annapurna winter festival” which is starting from feb 10 to 23 at the Annapurna base camp. I urge all the winter sports fans out there to be a part of these thrilling events.

Miss Jamaica crowned Miss World 2019

The 69 th edition of the Miss World beauty pageant, Miss World 2019 was held on December 14, 2019 at the ExCel London. 23-year-old Toni-Ann Singh of Jamaica was crowned the title of Miss World-2019 by Vanessa Ponce, the last year’s winner. This is the fourth time Jamaica has claimed the title of miss world since 1963. The title of first runner was crowned to OphélyMézino of france and the second runner to Suman Rao of India. Nepal also secured its position at top 12 by our very own Anushka Shrestha. The 2019 opening ceremony was held in London on November 20. Contestants then competed in a series of fast track events around London. It is the first time in history that black women hold the titles for Miss USA, Miss Teen USA, Miss America, Miss Universe and Miss World.The highlight of the event was the reaction of Miss Nigeria to Jamaica winning Miss World title.
