Majestic Mountains in Nepal


Whenever people talk about Nepal first thing that comes into mind is the Mount Everest, the world’s highest peak. But that is just the tip of the ice berg or in this case tip of the mountain. Eight of the world’s fourteen highest mountains are located in Nepal. Resembling as the country’s crown these magnificent mountains provides a breath taking view of white snow capped mountains and its surrounding valley. Annapurna

Ranked at the tenth spot of the world’s highest mountain, Annapurna is a behemoth. The Annapurna base camp is one of the best trekking destinations in the world. It is located east of a great gorge cut through the Himalayan by the Kali Gandhi River. The mountain has glaciers on its western and northwestern slopes, which drain into this gorge. The name itself represents the goddess of harvest, so the mountain is considered sacred in Nepal.

Manaslu

Makalu

Makalu (8,463m) is the fifth highest mountain in the world. It is an isolated peak, located just 14 miles east of Mount Everest. Its size alone is impressive, but its structure that of a perfect pyramid with four sharp ridges makes this mountain all the more spectacular. It has proved to be a challenging climb, as only five of its first sixteen attempts were successful, Previously, it had been admired and studied by several Everest parties.
